International Antiques Fair

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the second largest European antique and flea market trade fair after London, welcomes bargain hunters from around the world to at its annual fairs at Easter and on August 15. Under the leadership of the Mercantour society, the delegated organiser, the International Fair at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is always being enriched with new areas of interest, consistent with the development of the town, with new galleries and Foundation for Contemporary Art (Villa Datris, etc.) and several speciality boutiques specialising in international design.

 

From 15 to 18 August 2013, the 95th International Fair will transform the Isle-sur-la-Sorgue into a major open air art market with four major centres: Antique & flea market, Contemporary Art, Books, and Design & decoration. Over 450 professionals will be present and 80,000 visitors are expected.

 

450 PROFESSIONALS

wo hundred exhibitors from the French regions and Europe, combined with the 250 antique, art and decoration shops of the town, all displaying their finest goods in Gautier park on the banks of the Sorgue, in the villages antique shops and the streets. As part of the Quality Charter of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, experts are available to professionals and bargain hunters to provide information about the origin and authenticity of items presented at the fair.

OLD BOOKS

This section brings together professional booksellers on the quays of the river Sorgue.

 

From the oldest to the most recent works, the rich selection of books available will delight book lovers and will fill their libraries.

 

DESIGN AND DECORATION

This section gives pride of place to the furniture of the 20th century and vintage creations.

 

Plastic and industrial furniture, melamine tableware and vinyl... everyday objects of the 70s signed by renowned designers... where furniture is concerned, “vintage” is always “trendy”!

 

CONTEMPORARY ART

International Fair at Isle-sur-la-Sorgue plays host of contemporary artists represented by galleries. Paintings, sculpture, photographs, etc. - all representative of the main current artistic trends and signed by established artists or upcoming young talent.
